The Gift Within

The rose grows, reaches for the sun, slowly, each day taking all of its life for the purpose of one goal. To attract those visitors that will aid in the replication of life. First a bud, then it gets larger, until the bloom begins to open. The aroma, the beauty, to us, is but a lure, to draw those into, the gift of pollen, of nectar, so that it can make the seeds of future generations........and then, inevitably, the flower withers and dies.............
